The art of flavourful and nourishing food

Food to Nourish produces exactly what the name implies – organic food that naturally nourishes your body, with the added benefit of delicious flavour!

Armed with knowledge from her nutrition education, Danielle was able to spot the flaws in the products sold at the health food shop she worked at.

Food masquerading as “nutritional” was still highly processed and refined, something Danielle knew could be avoided with the right ingredients and processes.

Food to Nourish started in her home kitchen in 2013, where Danielle first rolled thousands of bliss balls by hand.

“It’s not that hard to create a product that has wholefood ingredients and still tastes good, is gluten free, and organic,” Danielle said.

Wanting to keep control of the ingredients and how things are processed, Danielle has never outsourced her manufacturing.

Her home kitchen grew to a tiny fit-out in a leased space, and now occupies a 600 square-metre site in Gosford, where Danielle still leads the charge.

“Everything is formulated by myself, so it’s got that nutrition knowledge behind it,” she said.

The secret behind most Food to Nourish products is the use of sprouted nuts.

“Essentially we soak our nuts just long enough to allow them to remove the phytic acid, and begin the sprouting phase,” said Angie, sales manager.

“What that does is it allows our gut to digest the nutrients easily, and to be able to digest more nutrients.”

They sprout almonds, Brazil nuts, and cashews, which are incorporated into their spreads, bliss bars, cookies, and cereals, for an authentic nutty flavour, packed full of benefits.

“Our ABC [almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews] spread is my favourite,” Danielle said. “It is really creamy, and you can really taste the Brazil nut. It’s delicious, it’s full of flavour.”

Unlike other nut butters on the market, Food to Nourish don’t use any emulsifiers to bulk up their product. Their foods are free from preservatives, artificial colours, and artificial flavouring.

“For example, the almond spread just has one ingredient, and the ABC spread just has three ingredients, as it should!” Angie said.

Their most popular product, the protein cookies, are loved for their traditional crunch, which is a world away from standard, dry protein biscuits. The chocolate chip cookie flavour is their number one hit.

“My personal favourite it the luscious lemon bliss bar,” Angie said.

“It has sprouted cashews, plus Medjool dates, which we pit ourselves because we find when we use other dates that have already been pre-pitted, they are dry. It’s just absolutely divine. It’s well worth it.”

For a healthy snack that nourishes your body and pleases your tastebuds, you can’t go past the Food to Nourish range!
